Kim Bui is one of the best-known German gymnasts of her generation. Born in 1989 in Tübingen, she competed at three Olympic Games (London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020) and won two bronze medals at European Championships – in 2011 on the uneven bars and in 2022 with the team. In 2022, after 13 years in elite sport, she ended her active career, having completed a master’s degree in Technical Biology alongside her athletic career.

Since August 2024, Kim Bui has been a member of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Athletes‘ Commission, representing the voice of athletes worldwide. Today, she is active as a speaker, coach, and advocate for a more humane approach to elite sport.
